In this talk, we will delve into the transformative impact of large language models (LLMs) like GPT-4 in the realm of education. As AI becomes increasingly integrated into our daily lives, its role in enhancing learning experiences has become a topic of pivotal importance. We will begin by introducing the fundamentals of LLMs, demystifying how these advanced AI systems learn from vast datasets to interact in human-like language. We will discuss the significant roles LLMs offer in education, including increased accessibility, enhanced engagement, and operational efficiency, as well as critically examine ethical considerations such as data privacy, potential biases in AI responses.

This talk is aimed to be accessible to both science and non-scientific audiences. Join us for an insightful exploration into how large language models are not just tools for today but a foundational element in the future of educational practices.
