ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE:  OUR OWN GENIE IN THE BOTTLE

Imagine that you find a Genie in a bottle.  A Genie!  She is powerful, but a tad difficult to manage.  After all, she’s spent several centuries locked in a bottle!  And while she has magical powers, she’s not up-to-date with things.  The other night you had to instruct her how to make traditional sushi: what type of rice, how to roll it, the whole thing.  And California Roll?  Forget it!

Now, imagine that you want the Genie to design a perfect house for you.  What does she have to learn?

Today, we have access to our own Genies.  They’re called Artificial Intelligence (AI) programs.  Our AI Genie is indeed powerful.  She can generate a floor plan in 1.7 seconds.  But is it any good?  And does it reflect the times, or your tastes?

Well it turns out that there’s an App for that, and our speaker, Natasha Bajc, will show it to us.  In fact, Natasha’s tamed the Genie by creating an AI Architect that can understand your personality and create spaces for living, work and play that accommodate your lifestyle.

About our Speaker:  Natasha Bajc is an Architect and Technologist with an interest in Artificial Intelligence and Affective Computing (Emotional AI). She maintains a multi-faceted career spanning an active commercial practice (Urbis Design and CodeDesignStudio), academic research, and teaching at UCLA, SciArc and Woodbury.  Natasha holds a Master of Architecture degree from Southern California Institute of Architecture (SciArc) and is close to earning her Master of Computer Science from USC.  A winner of the Radical Innovation in Hospitality Award as well as the European Hotel Design Award for Tomorrow’s Hotel, she's seen her work exhibited in the USA, Serbia and Russia.  Natasha's current projects in Artificial Intelligence envision smart systems for the design of homes, institutions and neighborhoods.

JOIN US for a walk into the future, and yet another memorable morning of BP’s famous “3 C’s” -- Commerce, Camaraderie and Community -- while enjoying breakfast and access to the expertise that only Bruin Professionals can offer.  Inexpensive parking (2-hours free) is available on Canon and Beverly Drives, within one block of the Beverly Hills Chamber.
