Our client is a mission-driven start-up media company offering content that aims to help artists and digital creators expand their platforms organically and to spread inspirational and uplifting content to the world. They have developed a strategic, data-driven, and intuitive approach that amplifies brands and personalities on social media, leveraging existing relationships and an existing social network of over 30 million followers.They are seeking a Sales Director to lead the sales team and think creatively to bring new partner brands and individuals onto their service. Many of their target partners are publishers who are seeking new ways to break through the clutter on behalf of their authors.
Responsibilities:
- Lead all new business development efforts, taking a business that is generating ~$2-3m in revenue to $4-6 within the next yea
r- Lead go-to-market positioning, including pitch and proposal decks
- Craft market and pricing strategies to target book publishers, brands, and individuals
- Manage lead generation activities as well as pipeline development
- Direct the Sales and Pre-Sales team as well as execute the process of hiring for these departments
- Work with the Internal Support team to develop client facing reports and deliverables
- Identify a CRM database to streamline data and pipeline activity
- Partner with the Operations team to develop workflow processes (deliverables, timelines, etc.)
- Develop and monitor KPI’s with the executive team to manage P&L
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree, required
- 5-10 years sales experience, ideally within another media or video production company, required
- Relationships within publishing or mission-oriented consumer brand companies, major plus
- Ability to lead a team and bring deals across the finish line
- Entrepreneurial mindset
- A belief in the company mission of creating helpful and positive content
