Silicon Beach March Meeting
Wednesday, March 23, 2022, 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM PDT
Category: Silicon Beach
At our meeting we’ll learn how one Bruin spends his time investing in risky and toxic real estate ventures. Yes, literally toxic. Matt Winefield (UCLA MBA 2000) sources properties in infill areas that have great value but for the gasoline, solvents, and metals that have leached into the soil and groundwater. He will describe some interesting investments and how he tries to do some good while doing well. These business case studies are not for the faint of heart; you will not want to attempt this alternative investment madness, even as the stock market goes meshugana lately. Meet The Speaker:
![]() Matt holds a BS in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, an MS in environmental engineering from California State University Long Beach, and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. He also maintains an active California Professional Engineering license, and belongs to several real estate, investment, and banking professional organizations. Time will be set aside for attendee introductions, so using the video feature throughout the meeting is encouraged. Please watch the training and read the documents on the BP ZOOM Resource Center, so you are prepared for the meeting.
