Meet them below: Joe Baratta Joe Baratta is SVP, Head of Trusts & Estates, Western Region at Bonhams based in Los Angeles. Joe is a regular speaker on the topic of estate planning around tangible personal property and works closely with an extensive network of professional fiduciaries, trust officers, attorneys, and client advisors on estate collections ranging from fine art and jewelry to collectible motor cars.
At Bonhams Joe is responsible for bringing multi-million estates to auction in 2023 including the white-glove A Perfect Jewelry Box which hammered at $6.6 million, the Lippman Collection of American Furniture and American Paintings, a collection of John Steinbeck first-editions and manuscripts directly from the Steinbeck family, and an important Helen Frankenthaler painting. Before joining Bonhams in 2022, Joe spent 20 years at a Southern California regional auction house where he was responsible for bringing to market many important estates including Gore Vidal, Penny Marshall, Carol Channing, and Don Rickles.
A native Angeleno, Joe earned a BA in Art History from Boston College.
